Yellow Advertising, Mumbai
Work spaces
Yellow is an advertising agency, as young as Studio Pomegranate. With strong ideas, and is young and energetic. We were called in to redesign a new 530 Sq.ft. office in an old building at Worli, that will be pulled down in a few years.
This office would be a contemporary, seamless and visually bold space, espousing the design philosophy of Yellow. Budgets were low, and we strategized a low spend on fixed and immovable gestures and a higher spend on furniture, and ensuring a conducive, comfortable atmosphere for everyone. The space is rectangular and has one window, which we would divide to light up the founders cabin, and the rest of the space. This left an “L,” further, a pantry was carved out of this space, leaving a lopsided “T.” We filled the T with desks made of wood board, with built in drawers that meet the desk top with a chamfer. Movable lights on tracks above allow the users to change and make variations to the mood of the space, either lighting up the desks, or wall art, or a combination, based on how the space needs to be used. The floor below is a seamless, even, light grey. The pantry is a space diffrentiated by being entirely in yellow. A table sits at it’s boundary, and metal lampshades light it up. The founder’s cabin, the only enclosed space in this room, is made by glass framed in aluminium. A woodboard desk sits in the centre, and a sofa on the side. The door to this room is a deep blue, with a custom made yellow handle, designed by Studio pomegranate.
